Job description
We're partnering with a brilliant independent creative agency working on a playful and stylised video campaign for a well-known logistics and infrastructure brand. They're creating a series of short, animated films with surreal, character-driven visuals - combining Mid-journey-generated imagery with After Effects magic.
The first film is already underway, and they need a freelance Motion Designer to pick things up and bring the rest of the series to life. It's a perfect brief for someone who loves narrative-led animation, fast-paced edits, and experimental visual work flows.
Key Responsibilities
Animate and edit short-form brand content using Adobe After Effects
Work with AI-generated visual assets (Mid-journey, Topaz) and maintain style continuity
Refine animation pacing, movement, and transitions based on a written treatment and feedback
Integrate audio (music and SFX) using Artlist and supplied libraries
Apply masking, colour correction, and light compositing as needed
Deliver 1 video every few days, with a full series completion by mid-July
Skills & Experience
Expert-level proficiency in After Effects
Experience working with AI imagery/video (e.g. Mid-journey, Topaz Video AI, Runway)
Strong narrative instincts and ability to match an existing animation style
Confident working with character-led or collage-style visuals
Able to integrate music/SFX and manage final polish
Familiarity with file handover work-flows and managing client amends
Personal Attributes
Self-motivated and proactive - able to hit the ground running
Detail-oriented with an eye for visual coherence
Open to feedback and collaborative iteration
Curious about new tools and AI in motion design
Calm under pressure and used to working to tight timelines
Strong communicator, even when remote
- Outside IR35
Immediate start (w/c 24 June ideal)
Approx. 3-week freelance engagement
Great agency exposure with potential for future projects
Work on a standout creative campaign already in motion

Core communication hours are GMT
