Principal Solutions Engineer

Our client is seeking a dynamic Principal Solutions Engineer to join their team in London. This role requires an individual who can navigate the complex landscape of law and technology, focusing on the practical application of Large Language Models and other innovative technologies in the legal sector.

Key Responsibilities

Deeply engage with clients to understand their legal research, workflow, and intelligence problems, ensuring technology solutions are relevant and impactful.
Collaborate with the Principal Research Engineer to identify and advocate for technological solutions meeting specialised requirements of sophisticated legal organizations.
Translate complex technological capabilities into practical legal applications, educating clients and internal teams on potential and limitations of legal tech solutions.
Build a collaborative environment between R&D, clients, and product/engineering teams.
Integrate cutting-edge R&D initiatives into broader product development goals, ensuring seamless transition into market-ready legal tech solutions.
Contribute insights into market needs, client challenges, and technology trends to R&D strategy.
Drive innovation by identifying new opportunities for legal tech development, positioning our client at the forefront of the legal technology sector.
Mentor and support growth of team members across R&D, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; law degree advantageous.
Minimum three years' experience in legal setting, demonstrating strong understanding of law practice, workflows, and regulatory environment.
Exceptional communication skills, articulating complex technological concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to drive projects from concept to application in legal environment, showing creativity, problem-solving skills, and strategic mindset.
Experience in engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and translating into actionable technology-driven solutions.
Familiarity with capabilities and constraints of current technology trends, particularly Large Language Models, applied within legal sector.
Leadership qualities inspiring collaboration, innovation, and excellence within cross-functional team environment.
Hands-on experience with information retrieval systems desirable.
