Job description
Creative Strategist
Salary £70-80k
Hybrid working (3-4 days) in London
I am working with a dynamic content production house making waves worldwide in sports, events, and destination storytelling. They specialize in crafting impactful social content for leading sports and destination brands - and they do it quickly. Their expert team thrives in high-pressure delivery environments, constantly embracing the fast-evolving landscape of modern content marketing. They are all about leveraging breakthrough talent and cutting-edge technologies to help their clients deeply engage audiences that demand ever more immersive experiences.
The Opportunity
This company is looking for a truly imaginative and strategically-minded Creative Strategist to join their energetic team. This is a pivotal role for someone with a strong creative instinct, responsible for envisioning and articulating the compelling ideas that drive their content. The Creative Strategist will translate big-picture thinking and human insights into inspiring strategies that help clients connect with their audiences in dynamic ways, especially within the thrilling worlds of sports and travel. If a candidate is a natural storyteller with a knack for uncovering what truly resonates and transforming it into creative brilliance, this company definitely wants to hear from them.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Vision & Strategy: The Creative Strategist will lead the development of powerful creative strategies for a diverse range of clients in sports, events, and destination marketing. They will define the core idea, tone, and narrative approach that will make content stand out and achieve client goals.
- Insight & Inspiration: This role involves diving deep into cultural trends, audience passions, and brand narratives to unearth unique insights. The Creative Strategist will identify the human truths that inspire breakthrough creative concepts and resonate deeply with target audiences.
- Articulate Creative Briefs: The individual will translate strategic thinking and creative vision into clear, concise, and highly inspiring creative briefs. These briefs will empower content teams to quickly produce engaging, impactful social content.
- Collaborative Creativity: The Creative Strategist will work seamlessly with content creators (videographers, editors, designers), account managers, and clients, ensuring strategic alignment and a consistent creative thread from concept to rapid delivery.
- Problem-Solving Through Ideas: This role will identify client challenges and opportunities, then proactively develop innovative, creatively-led strategic solutions to address them, always thinking about the most compelling way to tell a story.
- Present & Persuade: The Creative Strategist will confidently present creative strategies and concepts to internal teams and clients, articulating the "why" behind their ideas and how they will captivate audiences and achieve objectives.
- Content Performance Awareness: This role will collaborate with the analytics team to understand how creative strategies perform, deriving learnings that inform and refine future approaches - always with an eye on optimizing creative impact.
- Trend Spotting: The individual will remain at the forefront of creative trends, social media innovation, and new storytelling techniques, consistently bringing fresh, imaginative perspectives to the team.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related field.
- [X+] years of experience in a strategic or creative role within an advertising agency, marketing firm, or in-house creative team, with a strong preference for experience in sports, entertainment, or destination marketing.
- A proven track record of developing highly creative and effective strategies that have driven measurable engagement and results.
- A strong intuitive understanding of what makes compelling content, especially for social media.
- Excellent ability to interpret research and insights to fuel creative thinking, rather than just report on data.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; the individual can craft compelling narratives and present complex ideas with clarity and passion.
- Proficiency in developing visually engaging presentations.
- Highly collaborative and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented, high-pressure production environment where speed and quality are paramount.
- An innately curious and empathetic mindset, with a deep passion for understanding people, culture, and brands in the sports and travel space.
- Familiarity with various research methodologies and social listening tools, and how they can inform creative strategy.
Bonus Points If The Candidate Has:
- Experience working with global sports leagues, major events, or international tourism boards.
- A portfolio that showcases their strategic thinking and examples of impactful social campaigns where creative ideas were central.
- Experience in a production-heavy environment where creative agility is key.
What The Company Offers
- A dynamic, collaborative, and incredibly fast-paced work environment where imaginative ideas drive real impact.
- The chance to work on exhilarating projects with leading sports and destination brands worldwide.
- A competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunities for continuous professional development and growth within a pioneering team.
