Contract: 3 months initially, with review to extend
Rate: £400 per day, Inside IR35 via PAYE
Start: ASAP
Client: Confidential Government account
Working Pattern: 2 to 3 days per week in the London office

The Opportunity

A creative agency is looking for a Director of Social to lead social and creator strategy across a high-profile Government account.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands how social works at a structural level, not just tactically. You will define the social direction, shape influencer strategy and ensure all output is culturally relevant, strategically sound and creatively ambitious.

You must be comfortable leading RTBs, influencing senior stakeholders and setting the standard for social-first thinking across the agency.

The Role

You will own the overarching social and creator strategy across briefs, ensuring ideas are platform-native and grounded in real audience behaviour.

This role blends strategic clarity with creative ambition. You will take briefs, define the approach, build the right team around you and guide execution from concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Lead social and creator strategy across a major Government account

Shape and present RTBs and strategic responses to complex briefs

Define the role of creators and influencers across all tiers, from emerging voices to established talent

Develop integrated social frameworks aligned to objectives and measurable impact

Provide a clear, confident point of view on influencer direction and wider social approach

Act as senior client lead across social and creator workstreams

Manage and mentor internal teams and specialist partners

Ensure work balances creative ambition with governance and compliance requirements

Stay close to culture, platform behaviour and evolving creator ecosystems

What We’re Looking For

Director-level experience within a creative, digital or integrated agency

Strong social-first background with proven social strategy and creator expertise

Experience leading large, complex or regulated accounts

Confident presenting to senior clients and stakeholders

Clear understanding of how creator strategy drives engagement and impact

Ability to translate cultural insight into strategic frameworks

Strong leadership and team management experience

This is not a PR-led influencer role. It requires someone who understands social platforms deeply and believes creator strategy should sit at the heart of modern communications.

The Ideal Profile

Strategic thinker with a strong point of view

Commercially aware and delivery-focused

Calm under pressure and deadline-driven

Energised by ambitious clients who want to push their social presence forward

Comfortable operating in structured environments while still bringing fresh thinking
