Job description
We’re partnering with a food & drink business to find an experienced Freelance D2C Strategist to shape and scale their owned D2C channel. With strong foundations already in place, this role is about bringing senior, unbiased D2C leadership to define strategy, unlock growth, and set the channel up for long-term success. This is a hands-on, commercially focused opportunity within a growing FMCG business where D2C represents a major growth lever.<br>

<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong>
<ul>
<li>Set the long-term D2C ambition and strategy, translating commercial goals into a clear, actionable roadmap
<li>Identify and prioritise the key growth levers across traffic, conversion and AOV
<li>Define success metrics and support the team in building more robust and achievable revenue targets
<li>Work closely with internal teams to shape acquisition, PPC and paid social strategy
<li>Support onboarding, direction and performance of CRO and web development agencies
<li>Review and advise on the current Shopify setup and wider eCommerce tech stack
<li>Provide strategic guidance on scaling questions including fulfilment, platform mix and new customer acquisition
</ul>
<strong>Skills & Experience</strong>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience scaling D2C or eCommerce channels within consumer brands (food & drink experience preferred, but not essential)
<li>Strong understanding of omnichannel strategy, with the ability to drive growth through owned D2C
<li>Commercially minded, with experience working to revenue targets and performance metrics
<li>Strategic yet hands-on, comfortable getting under the skin of a business quickly
<li>Able to bring an objective, external perspective to inform decision-making
</ul>
<strong>Project Scope & Duration</strong>
<ul>
<li>Initial contract of 4–6 months, with potential to extend
<li>Full-time preferred (5 days per week)
<li>ASAP start
</ul>
<strong>Day Rate</strong>
<ul>
<li>£500–£700 per day, depending on experience
</ul>
<strong>Location & Workplace Policy</strong>
<ul>
<li>Preference for 3 days per week onsite, with flexibility
</ul>
<strong>IR35 Status</strong>
