11 Apr 2023, 18:30 - 19:30 – Online

Stuck on how to price yourself as a freelancer? Worried about over or under charging? Don’t worry, the Roundhouse has got your back…

In this workshop Alison Grade, author of The Freelance Bible, will explore the strategies you can use to work out your value to existing and importantly, potential clients. Alison will delve into your ‘secret sauce’ – that particular value that you deliver for your clients and how you can use this knowledge to move from trading time for money into a value-based proposition for clients.

She will also examine what you really need to live on. From this you will be able to generate individual ‘sales targets’ to ensure you keep your finances on track. Alison will then discuss strategies for estimating your value based on daily rates, sales targets, benchmarking, and other variables to give an understanding of the market tolerance for rates. By the end of the workshop individuals will leave with an understanding of how to value their work based on the impact of their services for their clients and the confidence to price their work accordingly.

11 Apr 2023, 19:00 - 21:00 – Paid - 22 Hertford Road

Nervous for the Robot take-over? Feeling like science-fiction movies are becoming a reality?

It's time to take back control and harness the power of A.I. to your advantage with this practical talk at Sarabande Foundation. We have enlisted the help of fashion-tech innovator and Sarabande mentor, Moin Roberts-Islam.

We will go back to basics, and start at the beginning of the A.I. story so we can best learn how to continue writing it for the benefit of the creative industry. With a wary eye out for IP, ethics, bias and over-autonomy, Moin will be the voice of reason, and catch us before we dive head-first into an A.I. pitfall.

Instead of burying our heads in the sand, crossing all fingers and toes, it's time to learn that knowledge is power.

Moin provides expert consultation to brands to showcase how emerging technologies can improve current practices, and is the Technology Development Manager at The Fashion Innovation Agency at London College of Fashion.

The soaring cost of living can upend the traditional notions of value, forcing consumers and brands to rethink what they consider important. While the price tag has long been the dominant factor in determining value, a cost of living crisis can shift mindsets whilst sparking innovation and creativity as both people and businesses are forced to adapt to changing circumstances and increasing demands.

In our research, we decode how the four dominant consumer mindsets in a crisis are manifesting themselves within the wider cultural and social context and what it means for brands.
