Back to Blogs

As part of our ‘In the Spotlight’ series, we are shining a light on our teams at Major Players, finding out more about them and the sectors in which they serve. For our next instalment in the series, we caught up with Naomi Morrison, a talent partner in our Client Services team, to find out a more about the industry and what we are doing here at Major Players!

Tell us a bit about client services, and what your team covers?

Client Services is a pivotal part of the creative process within an agency or brand. This division is the glue piece for orchestrating the delivery of brand assets and campaigns. These roles would include Production, Project, Account, Studio, Resource and Traffic management.

What attributes make someone suitable to work in client services?

A role in client services would suit someone who is process driven and has a creative eye. The delivery of assets and client facing element of client services roles would also require you to be a great team player, pay great attention to detail and have a commercial awareness of media trends.

What are the biggest trends you’re seeing currently?

Most recently I have noticed that’s more roles have become hybrid and candidates are expected to get involved in more varied responsibilities. This is a great way to add more strings to your bow!

What advice would you give someone thinking of moving into client services?

Start off in a role that allows you to support the function of creative services that you may wish to grow in to. This could be a Production Assistant to Project Coordinator. If you are looking to side step into the industry  develop an understanding of the creative process and understand where your transferable skills may be most valuable. Project Management or Studio Management tends to be the most versatile.

What do you predict for the industry in 2021?

The industry will remain buoyant and competitive in 2021 with many brands and agencies expanding their teams to adapt to new demands. Many brands are also forming their own internal agencies so there is likely to be a rise of agency candidates looking to move in-house.

Which roles are you recruiting for at the moment?

I am currently working on roles with some great agencies and brands- A Senior Account Director for an automotive client, a Producer for an in-house agency and also some Creative Services positions, just to name a few!
