Jake Harris has joined of creative marketing recruitment team as Senior Talent Partner, to spearhead our focus on fashion and beauty. He is specialising in connecting exciting brands to the best available freelance talent.

Get to know Jake a bit more:

Tell us a little bit about your background

I’m Jake, originally from Manchester, and I’ve recently moved back to London to join the team at Major Players. I began my recruitment journey in 2021 after spending time travelling around Australia. While I was in Melbourne, I got my first taste of recruitment and that experience inspired me to return to the UK to develop my career further.

Growing up, I was always drawn to the creative industry, so combining that passion with recruitment felt like a natural fit. Joining Major Players brings those two worlds together perfectly, and I’m excited to be part of the team.

What team have you joined, and what will you be responsible for?

I have joined the creative freelance team, and my main focus will be working alongside their Fashion/Beauty brands. Super excited to grow this area further.

What excites you most about joining Major Players?

The be part of a business that has built such a huge representation in the market with a team that has so much knowledge and delivers results for clients and candidates. Alongside this is the community they have built assisting people in the creative and digital market anyway possible. From freelance work to permanent placements, but also sharing their knowledge and insights to the market to build a more ethical approach.

What trends are you seeing in your area of expertise or the wider talent market right now?

I'm still early in this market but it is clear to see the creative industry is not slowing down! But one thing remains strong is having the right team and the best relationships - from candidates to clients.

Outside of work, what do you like to get up to?

Outside of work I try and stay active as much as I can!  I enjoy my spin classes, socialising with friends and family. Enjoying a weekend away is always a hot priority for me.

A song you can count on to get your creative juices flowing?

I'm a mixed bag - anything that has a good beat!

And finally… what’s one thing people should know about you that isn’t on your CV?

Back in my youth, I danced professionally on the side.
