The challenge
Retriever is the market leader in media monitoring and analysis in the Nordics. Social listening is one of the key growth drivers in our industry. Retriever has launched a new strategy that aims to the relaunch of our social media offering, focusing on social listening. We are now looking for an experienced social listening product owner who will organize and implement this relaunch.
The product

Social listening aims to provide the users with useful, actionable insights from social media postings gathered based on the customers' requirements. The challenge for the product is to form these insights from various platforms that provide different types of data from different audiences in different format, including text, picture and video. The product is a SaaS portal that provides a dashboard that filters the data into an insights overview. The users for this product are mainly communications and marketing departments in medium and large organizations. Main competitors in the Nordics are Meltwater, Falcon and Notified but the competition is global.

Description of the organization
Retriever operates in the four Nordic countries and its technical development is centered in Oslo, Norway. The product owner would be based in any of the four Nordic capitals (Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen or Helsinki), but frequent travel to Oslo will be required. The product owner position is a new one in Retriever and the selected person will report to one of the country manager in the country he / she will be based in. The product owner will work closely with technical development, heads of commercial functions and with external partners who provide the social media data required for social listening.

Job description
The social listening product owner will be responsible for
 Continuous development of the product strategy for social listening in dialogue with the Retriever management group
 Implementation of the strategy together with technical development and Retriever's commercial functions
 Managing the day-to-day relations with data suppliers and supplier contracts
 Training and supporting Retriever's organization in the product
 Gathering up-to-date information related to the product and competitors
 Reporting of progress in the strategic initiative the group management team

Requirements
 Experience from the social media environment with focus on organic posting
 Understanding of the various social media platforms, their audiences and differences
 Experience of SaaS service development and the resilience required in that process
 Good project management skills, including organizing, prioritizing and communication skills
 Strategic thinking skills combined with a solution oriented attitude
 Fluent in English, both written and

 Experience from a social listening service provider
 Experience of working with the largest social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter
 Experience from working with communications departments in companies and organizations
 Relevant commercial or technical education of at least bachelor's degree
