Major Players are looking for a top class Product Owner/ Project Manager to join a travel business within their Digital web team!

They are a true global leader within the youth travel market.

You will work within a team whose sole focus is on digital and technology efforts, very much akin to a client side role.

Their digital team is centralised and serves the company globally. They are looking for a passionate and ambitious Product Owner/Project Manager to take up a key position in their fun and fast paced team.

You will operate at the intersection between business, technology and user experience. You are, above all else, a business-minded person who can generate value through technology improvement and innovation. You would work as part of a wider digital team that includes specialists in ecommerce, email marketing, content, performance and social media.

Responsibilities

  • Working with global and regional stakeholders, you will be managing the full project lifecycle for their website projects (covering UX, e-commerce and online marketing). You will manage requirements gathering, scoping, design and development and continuous optimisation. 

  • You will be generating ideas and prioritising workflow to deliver exciting projects efficiently and effectively. This is a great opportunity to be involved in delivering leading consumer and business facing products and projects to international audiences and stakeholders.

  • Drive business value of their digital products and platforms through technology and innovation.

  • Own the website roadmap and work alongside senior leadership to help prioritise this against competing projects.

  • Lead and facilitate discovery and design phases, working with  Global and regional stakeholders to determine business benefit, requirements and design.

  • Continually measure performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and feed this back into your roadmap.

  • Work directly with internal teams and group company’s teams to ensure smooth implementation and delivery of projects.

  • Respond to and manage change requests from stakeholders across the business.

  • Manage relationships with various technology suppliers, group companies and partners.

  • Recognise opportunities for improvement and champion process evolution.

  • Document systems & processes for managing digital product and services.



Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in Online / eCommerce Product Ownership / or Project Management

  • This highly visible role requires you to have a flexible approach and the ability to manage the day to day processes as well as taking a lead on new projects and technologies.

  • The role will entail working independently as well as part of a team, liaising between business functions and external agencies.

  • You will be energetic and entrepreneurial with a real passion for eCommerce, online technologies, innovation and user experience.

  • You will be someone who can manage senior stakeholders’ expectations, dive into detail with development team, communicate clearly and have an attitude to get things done.

  • Experience with running discovery workshops, capturing and documenting requirements from diverse and remote stakeholders.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure.

  • Experience with Scrum, Kanban and waterfall methodologies.

  • Experience of project and resource planning.

  • Experience with web development and a deep understanding of the application development process.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relay often complex technical information clearly, tactfully and concisely in both written and verbal communications.

  • Highly organised and disciplined to balance a number of priorities at any one time.

  • Self-motivated, can be relied upon to follow up questions and outstanding actions, and to drive projects to completion.

  • Educated to degree level and possess relevant industry experience.

Bonus skills

  • Experience working with near shore and off-shore teams

  • Commercially minded and ability to create simple business cases

  • An understanding of content management systems (ideally Umbraco)
