Medical Copywriter (Global and UK Medical)

Working in partnership with our client, the Medical Copywriter creates powerful and impactful copy for all forms of printed collateral, web pages, email campaigns, social media, presentations, advertising, marketing and sales materials.


Writing and editing

* Produce original high quality medical copywriting across both print and digital channels
* Review / undertake research and develop an understanding of the client's target audience and competitor products to help to develop a compelling story for the brand/audience
* Work closely with the team to deliver all copy to ensure consistency and accuracy across all messaging to the agreed briefs and established brand values
* Develop briefing and reviewing skills
* Working in collaboration with design team to ensure copy is optimized for final destination
* Develop appropriate way to feedback to Associate/Junior Medical Writers and peers
* Ensure the accuracy of all information, data and referencing for the projects you produce
* Address internal and external comments on your work intelligently and question any that are inappropriate, inaccurate or unclear
* Provide validated, marked-up references to support all work

Scientific content and expertise

* Develop comprehensive understanding of new therapeutic areas
* Ability to research medical literature effectively
* Become familiar with client products, therapy areas, portfolio, and clinical and commercial strategy
* Develop understanding of industry codes of practice/legislation


* Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure that all brand objectives are met
* Plan your workload, and participate in team resourcing meetings
* Use a professional style in all external communications
* Good communication skills for both internal and external audiences


* Develop understanding of how projects are scoped, budgeted and reconciled
* Discuss any potential changes needed for ongoing projects with the relevant team lead at the earliest opportunity

* Experience in healthcare advertising sector / medical communications.
* 1-3 years of relevant experience in copy development related to:

* Digital
* Print
* Motion Graphics
* Web Design
