Junior Designer

Creative, Design & Studio £ 28,000 - £ 38,000 per year

Junior Designer

East London Base but WFH/remote working is available.

Salary is £28-38k

I am working with a leading bank who is looking for a Junior Designer to be part of their our in-house Creative Studio. You'll be working with art directors, brand designers and copywriters - plus their Social and PR teams. You will be designing interesting, visually stunning original content for all channels.

This is a really exciting stage in our creative evolution, and in their brand-new role, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact from your very first day.

The person who's right for this role will be as interested in generating great ideas as they are in great design. Ideally you'll be invested in the social landscape, too, with a keen eye for what works and what doesn't (although we don't mind if social isn't strictly your background).

In a day, you might:

* Spot an opportunity for some timely newsjacking and work up a clever thumb-stopping execution to go live later that day

* Storyboard a video or carousel for a product launch

* Conceptualise a new social series based on audience and performance insights

* Work with the Studio's brand designers to evolve our visual identity across social, communicating our brand and purpose in meaningful and engaging ways

* Churn out 10 memes about personal finance. Only joking (although if you can - nice work. Make sure you tell us about it).

What you'll bring to the table:

* 1-2+ years design experience in a multidisciplinary in-house or agency environment

* Experience working with a digital product

* A portfolio of exciting work and evidence of creative thinking

* Conceptual skills: you're an ideas person

* Knowledge of online design, brand development and the creative process

* Familiar with how content content can be displayed across different social media platforms

* A self-motivated, curious and organised attitude. It's fast-paced here, so you'll need to be able to think on your feet and manage your time and projects.

* Excellent knowledge of Adobe CC suite and Figma

* A thirst for knowledge and a genuine interest in social. You know what's trending - and how to jump into the conversation.

* A strong eye for composition, colour, typography, movement and attention to detail

* Ability to work to deadlines and demonstrate a level of flexibility to ensure work is completed on time

Strong communication skills. You'll need to be happy to speak up, justify your decisions and develop relationships with cross-functional teams.
