Digital Editor - Motorsports

Content, Editorial and Social £ 45,000 - £ 50,000 per year

This is a rare opportunity for a Digital Content specialist, with a passion for sport, to join the leading global Motorsports Publisher!

This international website wish to hire an innovative Digital Editor to ensure they continue to offer world-class Motorsport content, in an increasingly engaging and ambitious way.

You will inspire a team to produce "as live" content and introduce a range of content initiatives, such as; Podcasts, Videos and Event Streaming.

This is an exceptional opportunity to also represent the brand in an ambassadorial function, attending Grand Prix's and other events as you develop your contact base within the sport!

Key responsibilities:

* Liaise with the editor in chief regularly to discuss tone and direction of
* Contribute towards the best possible presentation of content on the site
* Introduce an analytical approach to content planner, using data as a tool to understand your audience
* Assist the editor in chief and magazine editor in forward planning of content
* Monitor rival titles (internationally, online and in print)
* Constantly highlight emerging web trends and advocating change and development whenever appropriate

Experience required:

* Excellent news sense and an understanding of how to set the news agenda
* Excellent writing and planning skills with an awareness of the latest digital media developments
* Technical literacy as regards the function of the website
* Great communication skills
* An ability to operate independently, while still providing leadership for your team and 'managing up'
* Time management and decision-making
* Good knowledge of the motor sport media market
* An appreciation of the inter-relationships of all publishing functions
