Design Director - Remote

Creative, Design & Studio £ 50,000 - £ 60,000 per year, £50k - 60k per year

Major Players are working with a creative agency specialising solely in consumer goods brands, founded by seasoned brand professionals.  They specialise in brand design, strategy and innovation with their mission being to help brands win their fight for relevance; and they are looking for a Design Director to lead the way!

The Role / Company

This specialist agency is looking for an experienced Design Director to inspire and nurture their creative team to collaboratively produce the best-in-class design.  Their aim is to strengthen distinctive brand assets, helping them to stay relevant without losing their soul; and they need a natural creative leader to lead the process.

You will have a personal back catalogue of beautifully executed projects and you love for design craft will only be matched by your passion for delivering impactful ideas and design craft in packaging, identities, brand campaigns and experiences.

Based within South Manchester’s green suburbs; this role can be taken on remotely with a minimum of 1 day a month in the studio as well as additional presence required at client meetings and presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of ideas across brand campaigns, digital and FMCG/CPG packaging projects for global clients

  • Supporting the Creative Director to lead, inspire and mentor the design team

  • Coaching design team through evaluating and editing creating work

  • Inspiring confidence through design knowledge and expertise

  • Building trusting client relationships and long-term partnerships

Skills & Experience

  • Graphic design qualification to degree level

  • Proven experience as a Design Director in a top creative agency, leading design projects of all scales from conception to completion

  • A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional ideas and craft skills across brand and packaging

  • Proven ability to execute strategic brand ideas across multiple touch points

  • Solid communication skills to deliver constructive feedback and mentor more junior members of the team

  • Confidence articulating ideas to both peers and clients

  • Experience leading and mentoring a small team of designers
