D2C Ecommerce Trading Manager


You are a dynamic, customer obsessed, D2C ecommerce trading manager who can build an inspiring flagship home for our brand, as well as optimising the platform for excellent UX and performance. Their ecommerce team is looking for a new resourceful, positive, and energetic ecommerce trading manager, to drive online growth and brand awareness, marketing, promotions, stock, and product listings on our flagship D2C websites, focused on the UK and North America, but operating across the globe.Coming to work every day fuelled by our purpose, can you spend your days optimising our D2C online presence, in multiple languages, creating and utilising performance marketing tools and ensuring that we increase our brand and product awareness and trade to meet our targets? Your responsibilities:

  • Manage growth, demand, forecasting, optimising, and reporting of D2C sales performance
  • Responsible for the end-to-end digital customer experience across direct platforms
  • Responsible for CRO, CX, SEO, paid and social search, affiliates, and the acquisition and retention of direct customers
  • Lead a small team and our performance marketing agency in support of D2C sales
  • Manage briefs for content and brand assets, working collaboratively with our content team 
  • Build out quarterly/annual promotional calendar, aligning with account managers on our other channels (Amazon, eBay, retail, and distribution – as well as at our parent company)
  • Take technical ownership of the company flagship website including the CMS, checkout, language versions, customer database, and ongoing maintenance
  • Manage the internal product development roadmap, lead continuous development of the platform and/or review of replatforming of the sites (English/German/French)
  • Work with our parent company product team, to support any of their D2C needs on our site
  • Manage the extension of our product assortment, strictly in line with our company and customer mission, and the demands of our parent company
  • All D2C analysis, A/B testing and reporting requirements
  • Team and channel budget optimisation and management


  • D2C ecommerce experience – an excellent working knowledge of ecommerce trading, and sales planning/forecasting management to defined targets. Some exposure to logistics and fulfilment demands is needed. CRO experience is essential.
  • D2C platform experience – it is essential to have rich experience of various CMS platforms, managing development teams and roadmaps and some project management skills. UX / CX optimization experience is essential.
  • Customer centricity – demonstrable customer-centric orientation is needed, possibly with experience of CRM, retention programmes or loyalty schemes. A working knowledge of customer data management and GDPR guidelines is essential.
  • Marketing – strong performance marketing experience – paid and organic, is needed. Experience of A/B testing and test-and-learn programmes, listing optimisations and content development to drive sales, is also required.
  • Merchandise planning and management - small-assortment experience preferred.
  • Testing and analysis – the ability to analyse data, performance, and processes to drive conclusions that provide opportunities for sales or improvements PLUS excellent reporting skills and experience, including use of Google Analytics and other analytics dashboards.
  • Presentations – comfortable presenting in a corporate environment.


  • You will have around 3-5 years of D2C ecommerce trading experience at management level in a fast-moving industry.
  • You will have an entrepreneurial spirit and boundless enthusiasm and positivity, for both the mundane tasks and the big opportunities.
  • You will be truly customer-centric and have a passion for building a trading relationship with customers, retaining them over time to maximise LTV.
  • You will have a strong commercial sensibility, excited about achieving measurable goals, and competitive in spirit, both for yourself and for the team.
  • You are someone who looks to analyse the big picture and then break things down into step-by-step executable actions – excellent in detail, analytics, reporting.
  • You will also be a proactive self-starter – always looking for the scope for new ideas and optimisation.
  • You will be a collaborative worker, the ambitious voice in the room, and able to apply creative thinking to business problems.
  • Not taking yourself too seriously, you will be a brilliant team player, able to inspire the team with your learnings, knowledge, and insights and collaborate on team decisions.
  • You will be intrigued by market dynamics and compelled to look at the trends and their impact on the customer, market, platform and planet.
  • You will be a multi-tasker, hard-working, professional, organised and resilient – and comfortable in occasional ambiguity. You will be used to working in, and managing projects with, cross-functional teams.

 £50,000-£60,000 pa basic + 15% variable pay, incentivised by achieving targets.

Hybrid/remote-working, including requirement to work from a central-London shared office.

You will report directly to the Head of Ecommerce and Marketing.
