Major Players clean up at this year’s MARA Awards
By Carlie Newman, Major Players head of recruitment for Marketing jobs

Major Players are proud to announce that we are the winners of not one, not two but three of this year’s Marketing and Advertising Recruitment Awards.

The ceremony which took place on the 2nd of December at the Jumeirah Carlton Hotel in Knightsbridge, aims to recognise recruitment agencies who have best responded to the need for change and progression within the industry, particularly at an economically unstable time.

But it’s not just financial uncertainty that has impacted upon the world of recruitment. Social media and the rise of digital have hugely influenced the way in which agencies operate, whether its client and candidate service or marketing strategies. So, the awards are also here to reward those who have best harnessed and reacted to these developments.

The categories

Major Players were nominated in four categories and walked away with the awards for ‘Best Social Media Strategy’; awarded to recruitment agencies who have undertaken ‘social recruiting’ as part of their talent-attraction strategy and show demonstrable evidence that provides tangible results for candidates and/or clients. ‘Best Marketing Strategy’; given to an agency who has undertaken a definitive marketing strategy, designed to promote either the agency itself or a client.

And finally, we were proud to take home ‘Agency of the Year’ This award recognises the overall achievements of marketing recruitment agencies, during 2009 and 2010, and those who have displayed extraordinary excellence across all categories, with particular focus on candidate and client experience. The winner of this award was determined by public nomination and the judging panel, based on nomination feedback.

Major Players CEO, Jack Gratton said: "We're so pleased to have been recognised for what we do and to take home three awards is just fantastic. We really pushed things this year so it’s great to see that all our hard work has paid off and that the projects we've been developing have had a positive impact upon the recruitment industry as a whole, as well as our clients and candidates."
