interview tips

introduction

Ask the right questions, get the right answers!

Hiring the right people can be quite tricky. Unstructured interviews (those that don’t follow a set format) where you just ‘go with the flow’ stand as little as 30% chance of success. Factor in the high cost of recruiting the wrong person (interviewing time, recruitment fee, on-boarding, induction, team familiarisation, client relationships etc) and you’ll agree it pays to be prepared!

By asking the same questions of every interviewee and making sure they are evidence-based (based on past performance rather than hypothetical answers) you can more easily make the best hiring decision and vastly improve your chances of recruiting the right person.

Designing and developing an assessment process is something Major Players can help with – we can provide tailored robust processes including psychometric testing, interview structures and assessment criteria as well as assessment centres if needed. Great assessment drives good retention, saves costs and builds talent. Email us here to find out more. In the meantime, click left for some great tips to get you started.
