PR & comms

State of the Industry

By Davina Forbes, head of recruitment for PR jobs

The PR industry largely defied the recession and continues to stay very buoyant as agencies continue to pick up loads of new business wins.

In the year ahead, agencies will be looking to candidates who can deliver integrated skills across experiential, events and digital. Planning will finally come into its own as the backbone of the creative process with agencies needing to demonstrate effective ROI.

Social media, the darling of 2009, is only going to increase in popularity, but candidates will need to display knowledge of measurement and sentiment analytics in addition to being able to deliver creative campaigns.
