By Mark Begley, head of recruitment for design jobs and creative jobs With the recession hitting hard in 2009, we saw a marked increase in demand for freelancers. As the market begins to show signs of recovery, the good news is that demand for permanent talent is now also growing. As we saw last year, companies are increasingly diversifying, with Digital continuing to integrate into ATL, Integrated, Design and Branding agencies. Those candidates with digital skill sets will continue to find the most success. The design market also remained fairly strong in 2009. Clients were demanding as ever on budgets and showed favour to candidates with a flexible attitude towards salary and a varied skill set. Start ups continue to be on the increase and for those who thrive on hard work, 2010 will be another exciting year.
