By Sam Webb, head of recruitment for account management jobs & planning jobs It's a good market for juniors with agencies keen to re-staff at AE and AM level and a scarcity of talent, perhaps because of so few graduates being brought into the industry and a lack of opportunity for progression up the ranks during the recession. There is a wealth of great calibre talent at SAM level, and many candidates looking for the step up to AD, with opportunities for promotion internally still thin on the ground. Having stuck it out through the hard times of the last 18 months, candidates should show caution in the wake of 2009 and shop around before taking an offer. Make sure the offer is right before you jump ship. There is still a growing emphasis from ATL agencies wanting to bring on board a wider range of skills and experience. Candidates from digital, integrated and PR backgrounds are increasingly vying for positions within these organisations and the competition is fierce for the right candidate. Overall, the market is buoyant and 2010 promises to be a great year for career development. Like to know more? Click here.
