Senior Analyst - The Role
Our client continues to strive to deliver on the Human Experience philosophy with exceptionally strong planning product, client relationships and award winning work. Data & Analytics sits at the heart of media planning and buying as well as a strong influential factor for clients business performance. D&A works across all clients locally and globally and leads the way for innovative ways of using data to inform effective media strategy for our clients. 2016 is looking to be a very exciting year for the department to be helping our clients to achieve their goals through media and wider marketing transformation. Naturally, insights on the performance of media plays a huge role in delivering our client's ambitions and D&A help to drive this through smart use of data and robust analytics.
-Experienced Econometrician with responsibility for undertaking client projects with limited management support and managing own workload.
-Contributing to the Development of analytical approaches to solve specific client questions using a varying set of data sources including digital.
-Experience working within an agency environment preferred, or client side within a relevant department such as marketing, research etc.
-Good understanding of media tools used within the industry beneficial
-Knowledge / experience handling sales data either client side or from third party sources.
-Working individually or as a small team, taking significant but not final responsibility for delivery of analytical projects.
-Integrating your work into the output of wider teams in the business.
-Presentation of findings to colleagues and in some cases with support to clients up to C-suite level.
-Perform agreed-upon analyses with the need for limited direction.
Senior Analyst - Key Skills
Our client is looking for someone likely to have around experience of econometric/statistical analysis preferably within media as well as a fully-rounded knowledge of digital media buying and delivery (process, tagging, latest developments, formats) You are likely to be working in a creative, media or digital agency or client side data role and should be confident in their abilities gained so far in previous role and willing to learn and adapt quickly to a fast paced analytics focused role. A collaborative approach to problem solving and solution development is important and the ability to be pro-active and to work independently within the team is essential, as is a sense of humour.
The following are required:
-An honours degree in Economics or other numerate discipline
-Ability to accurately process numerical data
-Strong problem-solving skills
-Self-motivated and the ability to succeed in a busy environment
-Good knowledge of econometric statistical modelling. Other statistical modelling knowledge may be accepted in some circumstances.
-Good working knowledge of statistical packages particularly SAS, R or Eviews. Again not essential but strong preference for this.
-Excellent Microsoft Excel skills - with advanced skills such as VBA preferable
-Proven track record of having delivered econometric projects or advanced statistical analysis for clients.
-Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
-Be well organized, logical and analytical in your approach. Be able to interpret and manipulate large volumes of data and have keen attention to detail
-Able to interpret analysis and provide actionable insights in a client friendly way.
-Good interpersonal skills to work as part of a team
-Good communication skills both interpersonal and for client presentations / contact.
-Ability to convey ideas effectively. Ideal candidate needs to be a strong communicator.
It is also important to possess:
-Experience with SQL (Intermediate), Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
-Experience of Market Mix Modelling (1-2 years)
-Programming in Python/R/VBA
-Understanding of database structures, manipulating data and importing into other platforms such as Tableau/Excel
