Global Social Media Manager - The Company

My client is a well known financial business in the technology space; they strive to give travellers the best experience they can by providing them with a number of options of managing their international currency. They are currently going through an exciting period of transformation. Building on foundations of their highly successful global Retail network and unique B2B business, they are working to digital and customer centric business that offers customers best in class products, services and experiences.As part of this transformation, they have been investing in developing their capabilities in the digital marketing sphere. This has involved hiring an entirely new team and establishing bolder, investing in channels and tools and the roll out of more ambitious and sophisticated digital marketing strategies across their key online markets around the world.
A key component of this evolution of our digital marketing capabilities has been focused on Social Media. They see Social as a key enabler of their journey going forward. This goes far beyond using Social for marketing purposes and into other key areas of the business such as recruitment, customer service and product development. In a short period of time, they have gone from a standing start to doing some highly innovative work in Social and their social servicing capability in particular is now delivering market leading results.

Global Social Media Manager - The Role

The role of Global Social Media Manager sits within the Brand & Customer Centre of Excellence. The role is responsible for leading global Social Media strategy and execution across the brand. The role is based in London, but has a global scope. The range of activities involved will cover nearly all aspects of the business across consumer and B2B. It also involves being a thought leader and evangelist for Social to support the broader transformation journey we are our as a business.

Responsibilities: -

* Accountable for development and delivery of measurable Social strategy:
 Develop global B2C and B2B social media strategies for the brand and gain approval and alignment across key functions.
 Define clear metrics of success and KPIs that include stretch targets for Social activity
 Working with the Head of Customer Service to develop and execute the Social servicing strategy across key online markets
 Work with Compliance & Risk to develop and embed Social media guidelines globally
 Develop and deliver successful Social activation, growth and engagement activities across all Social channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn & WeChat
 Constantly be on the pulse for the latest developments in Social Media and, where relevant, ensure this is addressed in the evolution of the Strategy
* Execute & Develop Social Content Strategy
* Manage & support the Global Social Media Team to drive their success
 Provide on-going support & strategic direction for local agencies & Community Managers
* Drive the building & sharing of effective Social Media Reporting across the business
 Supporting the UK Community Manager, as well as all local Community Managers & Agencies, with the creation of effectively structured reports, ensuring they are shared with all relevant stakeholders
* Be the Internal Social Ambassador
 Be a evangelist for the Social Media opportunity across the business
 Bring thought leadership & expertise to the immediate and wider teams on best use of Social Media

Experience required

* Intellectually sharp - 1st of 2:1 grade degree
* 5-8 years' experience with business - Proven track record delivering innovative social activities in B2C environment
* Experience of community management / social servicing
* Experience in fast paced environments e.g. retail, telco, tech
* Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
* Proven ability to build relationships and work successful across functional boundaries
