How did you get into the industry?
"I studied a degree in business and marketing but then ended up in corporate banking on the HSBC grad scheme. It was good for the experience but it was a bit too fussy for me and I wasn't able to apply the marketing knowledge I had acquired during my degree, so I applied the skills I'd learned from both areas and moved into the sales."

What advice would you give to someone wanting to get into the industry?
"I think sometimes you have to take a step back to go forward, at least that's what I did with the grad scheme. It may mean that you'll have to take less money but it's worth it, so definitely take up work experience for a few months. It proves that you've done something real and tangible"
 
What skills do you need to succeed?
"One thing that gets overlooked is creativity. Clients like creative pitches so come with more than just sale skills, and I hate to adopt the cliche but think outside the box."
