An insightful and entertaining Q+A with the MD at Eulogy!, PRCA Agency of the Year 2009 Not got time to watch a video? Then check out the main points below... What motivates you? "I think motivation comes from a deep place within a person. I don’t think there’s any one thing that motivates me, it’s certainly not money. It’s a combination of a deep rooted need to be good at what I do and to be successful at what I do." What inspires you? "No one person is good at everything. And we’ve been really successful as an agency by surrounding ourselves with people who have complimentary and collaborative skill sets. And I definitely find inspiration from the people I work with – from the account execs to my fantastic board." What would you be doing if you weren't doing this? "When I first left school, I actually wanted to be a chiropodist, but in those days you had to have a chemistry degree and chemistry wasn’t really my thing. But I think now I’d probably train to be an occupational therapist because I think life is quite tough for a lot of people and quite stressful. Sometimes people just need somebody to talk to." How do you keep up with the latest industry trends? "It’s difficult to keep up with the latest trends, especially in technology as it changes every day. But I think the most important thing to do is to constantly read as much information as you possibly can through lots of different sources like universities and traditional news channels." What are your industry peeves? "Technology has changed the PR industry so much. Email has made it a real time business and a lot of us got into PR because we love to write. I certainly find that you just don’t have to time to think about things like we did years ago." Search for the latest pr jobs now.
